November 12, 2019 – Las Vegas, Nevada – Welcome all competitors, trainers, owners, grooms, vendors, sponsors, friends and family to the one and only Las Vegas National, CSI 3*-W and AON/USHJA National Championships at the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center. For those who have been here, you know the adventure of staying under the same roof as your horse, with eleven restaurants, a 64-lane bowling alley, 16-screen movie theatre, a spa, the horse show on closed-circuit TV in your room… and for those joining us for the first time, get set for an awesome experience.

The week is already underway, with national derby horses in the main arena for first evening class. Aboard Lisa Wu’s Ravenswood, Jenny Karazissis earned the title of champion in the $25,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby – Professional Section. Thirty-eight pairs took to the course, designed by Thomas Hern, and those scoring an 81 or higher earned a chance to return for the handy round. Karazissis and her mount received a combined score of 178.5 after the two rounds. Nicole Bourgeois and her own Tic Tac Toe claimed second with a total score of 177. Nick Haness and West Coast Equine Partners, LLC’s Reese’s finished with a total of 176, after receiving an impressive score of 93 in the handy and moving up seven spots, to claim third. The South Point Arena and Priefert Pavilion will be buzzing with competition beginning at 7:30 a.m. each morning. Due to the volume of horses, there will be posted orders of go that will be strictly adhered to. Please plan accordingly and enjoy the ride!
