Carly Anthony and Jana van d’Abdijhoeve

Las Vegas, NV – Going second in the drawn order in the $10,000 1.35m South Point Jumper Stake, presented by Morning Star Sporthorses, Carly Anthony and Jana van d’Abdijhoeve (Baloubet du Rouet x Heartbreaker), owned by Neil Jones Equestrian, Inc. set a speedy time of 31.51 seconds that could not be caught for the win. Karrie Rufer, riding Morning Star Sporthorses Clapton (Clinton x Triumph), came within tenths of a second in 31.94 to clinch second place.

There were a total of 28 horse and rider combinations that jumped the two-phase course set by Anthony D’Ambrosio, and twelve riders tackled all of the tight roll backs and forward lines to jump double clear.

Jana is a speedy chestnut mare that came from Stephex stables earlier this summer. “She is naturally a quick horse to turn in the air so I was able to get in my two point, pick up a gallop, shorten my reins, and everything came up for her nicely,” Anthony said of her winning round.

“Vegas has a very small, compact ring with the best atmosphere of an indoor show on the West Coast,” added Anthony of her experience at this unique venue.

Later in the evening, Anthony also competed in the $40,000 1.50m Las Vegas National Welcome Speed Classic on It’s Real Love vd Smis Z and finished seventh to qualify for one of the 35 spots available in Saturday night’s $135,000 Longines FEI Jumping Word Cup™ Las Vegas Qualifier, presented by Walter Oil and Gas.

After a consistently successful year, The Las Vegas National CSI4*-W will wrap the West Coast season for Anthony and Neil Jones Equestrian.
